AJUPEME USA is part of an International Mesoamerican Hip Ball Game Association that originated in Mexico, founded by Armando Uscanga and Reyna Puc.
The Mesoamerican Ballgame
The Mesoamerican Hip-Ballgame is the oldest team sport in history, and the first to ever use both a rubber ball and a hoop. For over 3,500 years the Mesoamerican Ballgame goes by many indigenous names, but today it is recognized either as ulamaliztli, pok-ta-pok, or batuu. However, “ulama” was the main attraction across ancient Mexico and Central America, it was played by some of the greatest and oldest civilizations across the Western Hemisphere; over 2,000 ball courts have been identified throughout their ancient archeological sites.
